Beckman Papers: MPA Log

From May 12 to July 13, 1971 Lanny kept a detailed logbook of his MPA work.  Fifty-six pages in total, this spiral-ringed notebook is a window into the multiplicity of tasks that were involved in setting up and running the new organization: everything from soliciting furniture donations, to endless grant application, to advocating for members in hospital. “Didn’t eat breakfast until 11:30!”, Lanny noted in one entry, and no wonder.
