Voices

megaphone and copy of newspaperMad voices come in many forms: memoirs, diaries, poetry, art, analysis, journalism, and ephemera.  This section provides a wide array of Canadian expressions of the lived experiences of mental health.  It also provides links to relevant Canadian resources that can be found in other libraries and archives.

We aim to expand this section through the continual discovery of mad people’s work hiding in archives, filing cabinets and forgotten cardboard boxes.  If you have material that you would think would be appropriate for Madness Canada, please contact us at madness@yorku.ca

If Madness Canada materials are to be used in a published form that renders them publicly available, permission to use them must be sought from Madness Canada by submitting this permission form.  Classroom, conference or personal use does not require our permission.
